Anwar Gargash, the Diplomatic Advisor to the UAE President, stated on Saturday that the United Arab Emirates has been targeted by 1,909 Iranian attacks. His remarks came in response to allegations made by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who accused Abu Dhabi of aggression against Iran. Writing on his official “X” (formerly Twitter) account, Gargash described these accusations as part of a “confused policy that has addressed the wrong party, lost its compass, and lacks wisdom.” He emphasized that the UAE maintains the absolute right to defend itself against what he characterized as “terrorist aggression.” Despite the escalation, Gargash noted that the UAE continues to prioritize reason and logic, exercising maximum restraint in an effort to find a diplomatic resolution that serves regional stability. He further argued that Araghchi’s statements have only deepened Iran’s international isolation and exposed the nature of its hostilities. Gargash concluded by reaffirming that, until the very last moment, the UAE exerted sincere mediation efforts between Washington and Tehran in a bid to prevent the outbreak of war.
