IMF projects Egypt’s tourism revenues to reach US$ 28.7 billion by 2030-2031

The International Monetary Fund (IMF), in its fifth and sixth reviews of the Egyptian economy, projected that tourism revenues would reach approximately $28.2 billion in fiscal year 2029-2030, around $26 billion in fiscal year 2028-2029, and $28.7 billion in fiscal year 2030-2031. The IMF also projected revenues of $23.6 billion in fiscal year 2027-2028 and approximately $21.1 billion in fiscal year 2026-2027, compared to around $19.9 billion by the end of the current fiscal year. Egypt’s tourism revenues surged to an all-time high in the third quarter of last year, according to the Central Bank of Egypt’s data, reaching $5.48 billion in Q3 2025, a 30 percent increase compared to the previous quarter and about 20 percent year-on-year.
