2026-03-22 - 04:20
The General Meteorological Authority released the latest weather forecast for Cairo and the provinces, reporting chilly early morning temperatures followed by mild-to-warm conditions across most regions during the day. In Cairo, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 21°C and a low of 12°C. While temperatures will trend toward ‘hot’ in Upper Egypt, nighttime conditions will remain cold nationwide. Weather maps warn of dense morning mist (fog) between 4:00 AM and 9:00 AM across Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, Central Sinai, and Northern Upper Egypt, significantly reducing visibility on highways. Forecasts also indicate light-to-moderate rain, with occasional thunderstorms, over Northern Upper Egypt, the Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba, and the Northern Red Sea Governorate. These may escalate into flash floods in parts of Sinai at intermittent intervals. Light rainfall is expected along the North Coast and Lower Egypt, potentially extending to Greater Cairo. Additionally, wind activity is anticipated along the North Coast, while sand and dust storms in Southern Upper Egypt and the Southern Red Sea Governorate may further reduce horizontal visibility.
